About Us

 Uy Vu, our DJ, MC, musician, and officiant founded Higher Standard Entertainment. Vu's passion for performance has led him to establish Higher Standard Entertainment, a company that provides DJs, MC, musicians, and officiants for weddings and events.
     Uy Vu's journey in the world of Music began in 1997 when his passion for music led him to pursue a Bachelor's degree in conducting at CHAPMAN University.
        As a musician, he has performed from private, and corporate events to big productions in Vegas.
     Vu has dedicated many years to teaching music in public schools for bands, choirs, and orchestras. Furthermore, Vu has served as a church choir director for 25 years at various Christian and Catholic Churches. His most recent role was as a choir conductor at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fountain Valley. Higher Standard Entertainment was truly started by the church members coming to Vu to help with entertainment with their joyous events.
     Vu is also co-founded the former Spotlight School of Music. With locations in Garden Grove, Irvine, and Lake Forest, the school provided comprehensive music instruction for 16 years and has recently switched to in-home lessons for all.
     Since 1997, Vu has dedicated himself to the art of piano tuning and maintenance. In 2020, he founded the raving 5 Stars reviews on Yelp and Google "The OC Piano Tuner and Technician", an official vendor for the Orange County Catholic Diocese, Santa Margarita College, numerous middle schools, high schools, music schools, and beloved residents of Orange County.
